Born in Fulham, Robert grew up and was educated on the Surrey/Sussex border, before taking a year-long Cultural Studies course in Lausanne Switzerland.

Robert says: “Growing up in this part of the country, it did not take long for me to understand that the only mainstream political party that can adequately address society's needs is the Labour Party.”

Following his studies, Robert began a career in IT that would span three decades and as many countries and would give him a wide experience of many sectors of industry.

During the 1980s, Robert moved to Paris, where he continued to develop his IT career, gaining an international reputation for excellence.

Returning to England at the start of the 1990s, Robert chose to settle once again in the same area where he had grown up. As he progressed from traditional IT roles into customer services, it was a natural step for him to become a Labour councillor representing the people of his area.

Ten years in this role, have convinced Robert that it is more important than ever to give everyone the right to be represented by the Labour Party. He therefore considers it a privilege to have been chosen to be Labour's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency of Reigate.

Since the year 2000, Robert has been on the management committee of the Crawley Foyer – a housing and training scheme for vulnerable young people, where he has enjoyed helping residents to realise their potential.

In his spare time, Robert likes reading, listening to music, preparing and enjoying good food.
